Friends of the High Line

A few pounds a month (or a year, if you'd rather) to help get the High Line off the ground. Join now and you'll be one of our Founding Friends.

Founding Friends

Join before the gardens open and you'll be a Founding Friend forever.

We'll put your name on the Friends wall, and it stays there even if you cancel. The wall lives on this website for now, and one day we hope to put up a real one on the High Line itself. There's no cut-off date yet. We'll let you know when there is.

Pick a tier

Whichever one you choose, you're a Founding Friend. And you can change it whenever you like.

What every Friend gets

  • Founding Friend status, for life
  • Your name on the Friends wall, if you'd like
  • Our updates before anyone else hears
  • Invites to walks and volunteer days, as soon as we're allowed up there
  • An invite to our yearly Friends get-together

Seed

£3

a month
Or £30 a year, two months free

Helps cover our IT costs. Six Seeds would pay for it all.

Sprout

Most popular

£10

a month
Or £100 a year, two months free

Helps pay for our insurance. Seven Sprouts keep us insured all year round.

Sapling

£30

a month
Or £300 a year, two months free

A huge boost to the first viaduct. One thousand Saplings would make it happen in a year.

Or choose your own amount

Anything from £2 a month or £20 a year. You'll get the perks of whichever tier it reaches.

How it works

Pick a tier, choose monthly or yearly, and pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Direct Debit. That's it, you're a Friend.

Want to change your tier, swap cards or cancel? You can do it all yourself through "Manage your membership", on this page or at the bottom of any email from us. Pop in your email address and we'll send you a link to sign in. No passwords to remember.

We'll keep in touch by email. If you'd rather not hear from us, hit unsubscribe on any update. That only stops the emails. You're still a Friend and your payments carry on. (Cancelling is the separate bit above.)

Paying yearly gets you two months free, and it saves us card fees, so more of your money ends up on the viaduct.

Fancy giving more, or would you rather give quietly? Drop us a line at hello@leamingtonhighline.org and we'll sort it out with you. We call these Root Patrons. They can top the Friends wall if they'd like, and they get the same updates as everyone else.

Why become a Friend

Turning an old railway viaduct into a garden takes years, and a lot of that time goes on the boring stuff: insurance, surveys, paperwork. Grants rarely cover it. Friends do. A small regular amount from lots of people keeps things ticking over while the big bids come through.

We can't offer much in return yet. But you'll be able to say you were there right at the start, and nobody who joins later can say that.

What your support pays for

Every penny goes to Leamington High Line CIC and is spent on the project.

  • £3 a month helps cover our IT costs. Six Seeds would pay for it all.
  • £10 a month helps pay for our insurance. Seven Sprouts and we're insured all year round.
  • £30 a month is £360 a year towards getting the first viaduct back in use. One thousand Saplings would make it happen in a year.

Terms

  • Your membership is an agreement between you and Leamington High Line CIC (community interest company no. 15586799), and English law applies to it.
  • Membership renews automatically, monthly or yearly, until you cancel.
  • Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund the current period.
  • Prices for future periods may change. We will always email you at least 30 days before any change, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
  • Anyone who joins before the first garden opens is a Founding Friend forever, even if they cancel the next day. We haven't set a closing date yet, and we'll announce it before it happens.
  • Your name and tier appear on the Friends wall only if you choose "Yes please" when you join. We show your first name and the initial of your surname, for example "Sam P.", listed under your tier, unless you type a name for the wall when you join: a couple, a family, or the name of someone you are giving a membership to. As a Founding Friend your name stays on the wall even if you cancel your membership or unsubscribe from our emails. It only comes off if you ask us to remove it, which you can do at any time. The wall is on this website. We hope to put up a real one on the High Line one day, but we can't promise that.
  • Unsubscribing from our emails and cancelling your membership are separate. The unsubscribe link in any update stops the emails only. To stop paying, cancel your membership through "Manage your membership".
  • We hold your name, email address and postcode to run the scheme. Stripe processes your payments and Resend delivers our emails. Our privacy notice explains what each holds and for how long.
  • Any questions or problems, email hello@leamingtonhighline.org and one of us will get back to you.
